Acer platanoides
Norway maple

Wider than long, the leaf blades are 3 1/2 to 6" long, contrasted by a 4 to 8" width. They are borne in an opposite arrangement along the stem, and have 5 entire lobes that are sharply pointed. The margins are entire with a few smaller lobes present on the 5 main lobes. The lustrous green leaves are shiny above and exude a milky sap from the petiole if removed in early summer.
