Downy serviceberry

One of the more available Amelanchiers, this beautiful native is identifiable by its rounded habit, pendulous flowers, and pubescence on the emerging leaves. Like other Amelanchiers, it has edible blue pomes, great fall color and a smooth gray vertically striated bark.
