Paper birch,Canoe birch

This is the beautiful native white-barked birch, found growing in the northern states around the Great Lakes. It is susceptible to the bronze birch borer but more adaptable than the European white birch.

Habit:Pyramidal in youth turning oval in maturity, single or multi-stemmed
Size:50 to 70' high
Color:Dark green
Texture:Medium or medium-fine
Hardiness:Zone 2b USDA
Habitat:Newfoundland - Virginia - Washington - Alaska
