Gray birch

A conical to somewhat irregular, small to medium, short-lived tree with grayish white bark that has prominent black triangular patches where lateral branches originate.

Habit:Narrow, irregular open, conical with slender branches which are usually pendulous
Size:20 to 40' high
Color:Glossy dark green
Texture:Medium-fine in leaf
Hardiness:Zone 4a USDA
Habitat:Nova Scotia - Delaware - Ontario
