Fraxinus americana
American ash

The buds are broad-rounded, dark brown and covered with a very short pubescence. The 3/16 - 1/4" terminal bud is broader than long and very blunt with two outer scales covering the bud. The lateral buds are often set within and surrounded on 3 sides by the sickle-shaped leaf scars.
