Lonicera fragrantissima

Lonicera fragrantissima
Winter honeysuckle

Opposite, simple and broad elliptic to broad-ovate, the 1 to 3" leaves are thick, leathery, and entire with a short petiole. The leaves are dark slightly bluish green and glabrous above. A few of the semi-evergreen leaves often remain on the plant near the base in most Midwest winters.
