Lonicera maackii

Lonicera maackii
Amur honeysuckle

Culture: Like other honeysuckles, this species is too easy to cultivate. It will grow in full sun to moderate shade and is pH adaptable. It will tolerate poor dry sites and some soil compaction.

This species is resistant to the Russian Aphid and is free of other serious pest problems.

Usage: This species readily escapes cultivation via spread by birds. It is a tough competitor and one of the most common weed species in our native woodlands. Use of this species should be avoided at all cost and existing should be plants destroyed.
