Morus alba
White mulberry

This tree is truly a bane for all, staining sidewalks crimson-purple, dirtying windshields, and seeding in every nook and cranny. It was initially imported for the production of silkworms (a failed prospect), and can be used as a source for latex. The extreme weedy nature of this species requires that this plant be removed from any and all landscapes.

Habit:Rounded, dense, often with a leaning trunk
Size:30-50' high
Color:Dark glossy green
Texture:Medium
Hardiness:Zone 4b USDA
Habitat:China, Japan
Family:Moraceae
