Varying with the region of origin, the evergreen needles range in length from 1-4" long. Borne in fascicles of two, the needles are distinctly twisted and irregularly overlapping - providing a "bed-head" look. The blue-green leaves are minutely toothed and have well defined stomatal bands. The fascicle sheaths are initially 3/8" long, becoming shorter with age.
