Oriental arborvitae

A fastigiate small evergreen tree that tends to go off-color in the cold winters of the Midwest.

Habit:Fastigiate to oval with large numbers of branches originating near the ground sweeping up with vertically oriented branchlets, the crown breaks opens with age
Size:20-25' high
Color:Bright green turning to dark green in summer, then green-brown in cold climate winters
Texture:Fine to medium-fine
Hardiness:Zone 6b USDA, but survives to 5a
Habitat:N. China, Korea
Family:Cupressaceae
