Abies veitchii
Veitch fir

Culture: Prefers moist, well-drained soils, needing only minimal maintenance. It does not tolerate alkaline soils but is adaptable to suburban conditions.

Other than susceptibility to the wooly adelgid, most of diseases or pests on this plant are usually minor.

Usage: Veitch fir makes an excellent specimen plant and can be useful for screening. Its slightly informal habit makes it less stiff in appearance than other firs and thus easier to integrate into the landscape.
