A Nectria canker magnet, this species is frequently killed by this disease as it reaches middle age. Usage: Although hard not to like this plant, the snake-bark enthusiast should be prepared to replace trees as plants age and develop canker. Its small size and interesting bark make it an excellent landscape specimen, however, and provides year-round interest. 'White Tigeress' is a new selection. |
