Alnus cordata
Italian alder

Culture: Italian alder prefers moist soils but will tolerate dry soils and a high pH.

Leaf miner may be a problem on Italian alder.

Usage: This an uncommon landscape plant. Often considered the best of the alders because of its glossy foliage. It is a good utility plant but lacks seasonal interest to warrant wide use.
