Common alder,Black alder,European alder

A pyramidal, medium to large, deciduous tree with dark glossy green leaves and fruit borne in long pedicelled strobiles. It is well suited to moist areas.

Habit:Pyramidal to slightly irregular, looks best when grown multistemmed
Size:40-60' high, fast grower in youth
