Alnus incana
Gray alder,White alder

Culture: This species is one of the most cold hardy alders and it is tolerant of wet conditions.

Leaf miner and the cottony alder aphid are often a problem on gray alder.

Usage: Gray alder is useful in wet locations but limited in other areas where other higher quality trees might be more suitable.
