Cornus mas
Corneliancherry dogwood

Small, bright yellow and 4-petaled, the flowers are borne in profusion for 2-3 weeks in early- to mid-March. Extended cool periods may allow the flowers to last up to 6 weeks. The open flowers tolerate snow and frost exposure. Although only slightly showy due to their small size, gardeners cherish this plant for its early bloom time. The effect is very delicate.
