Eucommia ulmoides
Hardy rubber tree

A medium to large Asian deciduous tree with few ornamental characters but grown for its foliage and cultural adaptability as a shade tree. The genus name is derived from Eu = good and commia = gum, referring to the latex content of the tree; while the ulmoides refers to leaves like an Ulmus or elm.
