Euonymus atropurpureus
Eastern wahoo

A 4-lobed crimson capsule when ripe in fall, exposing brown seeds covered with a scarlet aril, the fruits of this species are quite attractive. The red color of the aril distinguishes this species from many other Euonymus species.
