Exochorda racemosa
Common pearlbush

Culture: For best flowering, plants should be located in full sun. They prefer average soil moisture and acidic to neutral soils and are also adaptable to hot and dry sites. Occasional renewal pruning to remove the oldest stems to the ground will maintain a uniform habit and greater plant vigor. This species is usually transplanted B&B.

This species is generally not bothered by serious insect and disease pests.

Usage: The common pearlbush is useful in shrub borders. Its usefulness as a specimen plant is reduced by its lack of ornamental features other than its flowers.
