It is difficult to grow turf below this species due to low branching, therefore it is best grown with an organic mulch. It has few insect and disease problems. Usage: European beech is an excellent high quality tree for landscape use. There are many cultivars available from weeping to fastigate forms and ones with variegated or colored leaves. |
