Gleditsia triacanthos
Common honeylocust

A large rounded deciduous native tree with pinnate or bipinnately compound leaves that bear very small leaflets, lending a very fine-textured appearance. The species bears long branched thorns that are quite hazardous. Most current selections are thornless and mostly fruitless as well.
