Hamamelis x intermedia Intermedia hybrid witchhazel
Small clusters of flowers, each 1" across, are composed of 1/2 - 2/3" long bright yellow strap-like petals that open in late fall, lasting several weeks but hidden by the changing leaves. The fragrant flowers look their best after the leaves have fallen. Like the other witchhazels, the petals roll up in cold weather and unroll on warm days. This species is usually the last plant of the season to bloom.
