Hypericum kalmianum
Kalm hypericum

Serving as a useful identification feature, the small 1/2" fruits are 3-5 celled (usually 4-5) ovate reddish brown capsules that persist from late summer through the winter. The capsules are more reddish brown and smaller than those of Hypericum frondosum 'Sunburst'. The greater number of cells in the capsules also distinguishes this species.
