Ilex glabra
Inkberry

1/4" black drupes are borne from September to May, however the black color is lost amongst the dark green foliage. They are therefore much less showy than the red fruit on other hollies. It does have a high wildlife value, however. The black ink-like juice that can be expressed from the fruit is responsible for the common name for this species.
