Crepe myrtle

Extremely showy from July through September, the 1 to 1 1/2" wide and perfect flowers have 6 crinkled or fringed petals, produced in pyramidal panicles 6 to 8" long. The color varies from white, pink, pinkish purple and red, coloring the entire crown of the tree or shrub. After the initial bloom in July, repeat flowering continues through September.
