Magnolia grandiflora
Southern magnolia

Occurring primarily in June, the large white flowers are very pleasantly fragrant, perfect, 6-10" in diameter and have 9-15 tepals. Sporadic flowering occurs through the remainder of the summer. Dirr reports variable flowering ages ranging from 3-20 years, depending upon selection.
