| Magnolia x loebneri Loebner magnoliaThe cultivated selections of this hybrid produce heavy displays of mostly white, fine-textured flowers in early spring. In the central Illinois area, flowering usually occurs in early April. There are also a few pink or pinkish purple forms available. The 4-6" diameter flowers are comprised of 11-16 narrow tepals that are slightly wider than those of Magnolia stellata. Like its parents, this hybrid produces very fragrant flowers and flowering begins at a very young age. |
