Alternate and simple, these 8-10" wide leaves are only about 2/3's as long, with 3 to 5 coarsely serrate lobes. The sinuses extend about 1/3 into the leaf, differing from the shallow sinuses of P. occidentalis. The base is either truncate or cordate, and the 3-5" petiole surrounds the bud.
