Prunus cerasifera 'Atropurpurea'
Pizzard plum

The most common form of this species, this old purple-leaved cultivar bears light pink flowers and purplish drupes. The Pizzard Plum is named after Mr. Pizzard, gardener to the Shah of Iran, who introduced the plant to France from Iran.

Habit:Rounded to slightly broad-rounded, often slightly irregular
Size:20-25'
Color:Maroonish purple to slightly brownish purple
Hardiness:Zone 5a USDA
