Prunus cerasifera 'Thundercloud'
Thundercloud plum

One of the most common of the purple-leaved cherries with deep purple foliage and light pink fragrant flowers. Its usage is limited in the upper Midwest by lack of cold hardiness.

Habit:Oval-rounded
Size:15-20' high
Hardiness:Zone 5a/5b USDA, occasional winter damage in Urbana, Illinois
