Culture: Culture: Silver lindens are fast growing when young, slowing to a moderate growth rate in middle age. This species is a good choice for a fairly fast growing shade tree in either a home landscape or as a street tree. Japanese Beetles appear to have less of a liking to the pubescent leaves of this species and thus it retains most of its foliage in good condition despite the presence of the beetles.
