Tsuga canadensis
Canadian hemlock

Small and somewhat charming, the 1/2 - 1" short stalked cones are oblong to ovoid pendant cones. They become light brown at maturity, and bear smooth slightly cupped scales with non-undulating margins and longitudinal striations. The 1/8" narrow bronze-colored seeds bear a yellow-brown wing.
