Scotch pine

The Scotch pine is the most widely distributed pine in the world, covering an enormous geographic range that includes half of Asia and most of Europe. The species has been cultivated a great deal for its ornamental bark and spectacular form.

Habit:Irregular pyramidal form in youth developing into an open, umbrella-shaped crown with short-spreading branches; picturesque with a knobby and twisted trunk; without lower branches in old age

Color:Blue-green to gray-green, sometimes yellow-green in winter
Texture:Medium-fine
Hardiness:Zone 3a USDA
Habitat:North China - Caucausus - Balkans - Scotland - Norway
