Red buckeye

Red and borne in 4-8" upright panicles, the showy flowers occur in mid to late May. Each narrow tubular flower is 1 to 1 1/2" long with 4-5 small red to yellowish petals and slightly exerted stamens. The intensity of the red color varies from plant to plant.
