Albizia julibrissin
Mimosa

Culture: This fast-growing species is adaptable to almost any soil type and withstands drought, dessicating winds, and either acidic or alkaline soils.

The mimosa is extremely susceptible to Fusarium vascular wilt that can kill the plant to the ground. This species can also be rendered fairly unsightly by webworm in the summer.

Usage: For sheer aesthetics, this plant is a frequent choice of homeowners. It's fine texture, fragrant and showy flowers, and fast growth rate make it a popular plant. However, webworm, vascular wilt and cold temperatures severely limit this plant's usage.
