Buxus sempervirens
Common boxwood

Culture: The common boxwood prefers a warm, moist climate in full sun to light shade.

The list of potential problems is rather long, but usually only applies when the plant is stressed due to poor drainage.

Usage: This species makes an excellent specimen, hedge, or massed planting, and is particularly well-suited to topiary work. The cultivar 'Suffruticosa' is the hedging material of choice that is widely used in formal European gardens as sheared hedges and to form creative shapes.
