Castanea mollissima
Chinese chestnut

Alternate, simple and elliptic, the 4-6" leaves have pinnate venation and coarsely serrate margins with bristled tips. The leaves are thick and stiff with whitish tomentose pubescence below early in the season, gradually becoming green and softly pubescent beneath.
