Celtis laevigata

Celtis laevigata
Sugar hackberry

Imbricate, narrow ovate and pointed, the 1/8 to 3/16" buds, are only slightly pubescent and brown to reddish-brown-black in color. Thus, the buds are smaller, darker and less pubescent than those of Celtis occidentalis.
