Chamaecyparis nootkatensis

Chamaecyparis nootkatensis
Nootka falsecypress

1/8 - 3/16" opposite, dark green to bluish green leaves are scale-like but juvenile, appearing awl-shaped with divergent tips. They are glossy and soft to the touch, giving a rank odor when crushed. This species lacks the white markings on the undersides of the leaves common to the other species of Chamaecyparis.
