Chamaecyparis nootkatensis
Nootka falsecypress

Culture: This species performs best in full sun in rich, moist, well drained soil, and thrives in a moist atmosphere with protection from drying winds.

The nootka falsecypress is relatively free of serious disease and insect problems.

Usage: Useful for just about any landscape situation, provided that an applicable cultivar is selected. The species is not commonly available but the pendulous form is being used with increasing frequency. The species is useful as specimens or for screening in appropriate environments, while the pendulous form is primarily used for accent purposes as specimen plants.
