Chionanthus retusus
Chinese fringetree

Appearing in late May or June at the ends of the shoots, the lacy snow white flowers are formed in 4" wide panicles. They are dioecious, but the male and female flowers are equally stunning. Each flower has 4 very narrow strap-like petals that are 1/2 - 3/4" long.
