Cornus amomum

Cornus amomum
Silky dogwood

Culture: Native to wet areas but quite adaptable and easy to transplant. It tolerates full sun to moderate shade.

Scale insects may be an occasional problem.

Usage: Although not commonly used in the landscape, it should be considered for use in wet areas in groupings or mass plantings. Because birds love the fruit it is used in naturalized landscapes. It can also be used to retain soils on steep slopes.
