Cornus sericea
Redosier dogwood

A tremendous winter asset, the greenish red summer stems are slender, and upright, turning a bright red to dark blood red in winter with elongated light gray lenticels. My students rarely miss this one on winter quizzes. Old stems turn light gray at the base of the plant.
