Cotoneaster dammeri
Bearberry cotoneaster

White and dainty with red anthers, these short-stalked, 1/3 to 1/2" wide flowers are borne in late May either singly or in pairs. The flat white flowers with 5 distinct petals allow this species to be differentiated from many other groundcover cotoneasters which have cup-shaped pinkish flowers. They are only slightly showy, but can be appreciated from up close.
