Culture: Like most cotoneasters, the bearberry cotoneaster is tolerant of most adverse conditions. It does require good drainage and prefers moist sites, however.
Mites, aphids, and fireblight can be a problem.
Usage: Where hardy, this is an excellent groundcover. The dark green leaves provide an excellent foil for the red berries and winter snow. Its fast growth makes it ideal for nearly any situation where a groundcover is required.
