Crataegus crus-galli
Cockspur hawthorn

The 3/8 - 1/2" pome-like drupes produced by this species contain 1-5 individual nutlets, and appear in late September and persist through November. Because they occur along with the foliage and its fall color, the effectiveness of the fruit display is moderately showy at best.
