Crataegus phaenopyrum
Washington hawthorn

The most notable feature of this species, the small, 1/4", orange-red pome-like drupes are produced in September and persist into spring. The small glossy fruit are borne in great numbers and are most showy after the leaves have dropped. The late fall to winter display can be extremely effective.
