Ilex pedunculosa
Longstalk holly

This small, pyramidal, evergreen tree has foliage resembling that of the weeping fig. Its name is derived from the long fruit pedicels. It is not commonly used.

Habit:Pyramidal to rounded-pyramidal, large shrub to small tree
Size:20-30' high
Color:Lustrous dark green in summer, turning yellowish in the winter
Texture:Medium
Hardiness:Zone 5b with some protection, otherwise zone 6a USDA, bearing little damage in Urbana field trials
Habitat:Japan and China
