Koelreuteria paniculata
Panicled goldenraintree

One of the few trees to produce flowers in July, Koelreuteria paniculata is a medium broad-rounded deciduous tree with bright yellow flowers and interesting papery capsules. Most important to the casual gardener, however, is its lack of maintenance and adaptability to a wide variety of conditions.

Habit:Rounded to broad rounded, it can be single-trunked or allowed to branch close to the ground
Size:30-40' high
Color:Bright green
Texture:Medium-fine in leaf, medium in winter
Hardiness:Zone 5b USDA
Habitat:China - Korea - Japan
Family:Sapindaceae
