The 1 1/2 - 2" flowers are red in bud, opening rosy pink. In hot weather, the flowers quickly take on an unsightly grayish cast. In cool weather, the display is usually quite nice. The center of each flower is marked by a white star that is created by a white streak in the middle of each petal.
